Hector Ugarte

Hector Ugarte is an instructor at the University of Texas at El Paso for the Upward Bound Program; he has been with the program for seven straight years now.  He is and has been a teacher at the El Paso Independent School District and the Socorro Independent School District for nine years straight now.

Hector Ugarte holds a bachelors degree on History and a degree on Speech and Language Pathology; he also holds a masters degree on Hispanic American Literature from the same university.  Mr. Ugarte has also completed post graduate studies in various universities abroad in Mexico, Italy and Spain.

Hector Ugarte is currently working on several projects as a writer and illustrator; a novel, an illustrated children’s book and a collection of short stories.

His passion for the teaching profession and his love for literature make of him a very happy individual and an able instructor.
